North Captiva and Captiva Islands
Stunning vistas, miles of beaches. Captiva Island and North Captiva , two islands that were one, divided by hurricane... one left to casual Florida development and one reserves unique charm all to itself.
Captiva Island is connected to Sanibel and to Fort Myers by the Sanibel Causeway bridge( at time this is written, the toll is $6 per car). Copious restaurants, shopping boutiques, and galleries populate the island and offer lots of fun and distractions for vacationers and residents alike.
North Captiva Island remains in a league of its own. Protected from the over-development common in Florida and home to miles of pristine sandy beaches and a truly unique feature- no cars allowed. No traffic, no beach parking meters, no parking tickets. The common mode of trasportation on the island are zippy little golf carts, electric powered and super quiet, of course. Everything is easily accessible on the island and nothing is very far from the beaches. All of the regular resort services are available including, pools, tennis, grocery deliver, package delivery, and so much more...
